With our flip-flops, we want to treat your feet to something special whilst also opting for a renewable raw material rather than petroleum. Natural rubber is therefore an excellent raw material for making our flip-flops. The spongy, lightweight nature of natural rubber means it moulds naturally to your foot, offering you a high level of comfort and support when worn. You\u2019ll hardly notice you\u2019re wearing shoes, and the material can help prevent annoying blisters between your toes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our principles – Fair to the environment, people and animals<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When it comes to manufacturing our flip-flops, our principles are clear: fair trade practices and a firm \u2018no\u2019 to child labour and animal testing. As natural rubber is not one of the raw materials that can be certified under the Fairtrade mark, we have joined forces with Fair Rubber e.V.: The organisation applies the principles of fair trade to rubber cultivation and ensures that the sap from the rubber tree is certified according to its own, independently audited criteria. In Sri Lanka, we employ many people who harvest the precious natural rubber using traditional methods and new technologies. For our natural rubber, we pay a Fairtrade premium per kilogram, and the local producers decide for themselves how to use it; Fair Rubber e.V. monitors the transfer of funds, whilst independent audit firms check compliance with the criteria. In this way, together with Fair Rubber e.V., we enable those involved in Sri Lanka to participate in fair trade. See also www.fairrubber.org<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
